“Jugoya” is  the Japanese names for the full-moon festival held in either September or October. Japanese people often hold parties to celebrate the beauty of the full moon. It is like a harvest festival. During Fall, the full-moon is so beautiful and the most beautiful moon we can see is October 1st this year.  For Jugoya, we have some cultures.  For example, Japanese eat “Dango” while viewing the beautiful moon. Dango is like a rice dumpling.  Japanese used to eat the simple dango such as a small moon, but we can enjoy to eat a lot of dango these days.  Today, we show you the most popular 3 dango on this BLOG.  We would like you to try to eat someday !

Mitarashi Dango (みらたし団子)

Mitarashi Dango is a soft rice cake with some sticky sauce made from soy sauce and sugar.  We can buy it at the convenience store and supermarket easily.  It is very sweet so most of people love it and Mitarashi dango which go well with green tea.

Three-colors Dango (三色団子)

Three-colors Dango suggestive of spring.  Japanese usually eat it in cherry blossom viewing.  The appearance is so cure but we are particular about the each taste.  The pink color Dango is a taste of plum, the white color Dango is a taste of nomal rice cake, and green Dango is a taste of mugwort. It looks like gorgeous if we prepare this Dango on the dishes:)

Anko Dango (あんこ団子)

“Anko” means sweet bean paste and it is used in Japanese traditional food like Japanese style desserts.  Anko is very sweet so Japanese have been using it for sweets for a long time instead of chocolate.  it goes well with rice cake and you may keep eating it forever.
