Alcohol called SAKE (Nihon-shu) is one of the most famous drink in Japan. I think you have heard of it before.
SAKE is a drink made of rice, water and Koji (malted rice).  The alcohol content is 15 % or more so it is about the same degree as wine.  Also the taste is  markedly different depends on each types of SAKE, so you can enjoy the individuality.
When you drink SAKE, we recommend to you not only cold SAKE but also hot SAKE.  Normal temperature is also good, you can choose the best way you like.  The taste  is different  even if it is SAKE we often drink and it is the charm for SAKE.

1. 獺祭 純米大吟醸50 (Dassai / Junmai-Daiginjou)

This is made in Yamaguchi Prefecture and the alcohol content is 16 %.  The taste is fruity so it is know as one of the most good present.  The motto of  brewery is “we’d like to give SAKE which is not for getting drunk but enjoyment of the taste” so they are looking to expand their business overseas. The episode which Putin gave it to Obama is popular.

 

2. 久保田 純米大吟醸 萬寿 (Kubota / Junmai-Daiginjou-Manju)

This is made in Niigata which is one of the most famous Prefecture for SAKE in Japan.  The strong preference is not only rice but also fresh water because Niigata is an area of heavy snowfall so it is made from  water of malted snow.
The taste is deeply and smell is good.  This SAKE is famous and known as one of the reasonable one.

 

3. 八海山 純米吟醸 雪室貯蔵三年(Hakkaisan / Junmai-Ginjou / Yukimuro-chozou sannen)

It is also popular similar to Kubota and made in Niigata too.  You can feel that it taste rice when you drink so it  match a variety of dish.  The alcohol content is 15.5 %.
